We are proud to have achieved national recognition, in our first year of trading, by our inclusion in the 2012 edition of The Good Food Guide. Inclusion is based entirely on readers' recommendations and inspection reports, so this is a fantastic achievement.

Here is the write up about The Marine: "A stunning new Art Deco-styled venue on the Milford seafront, the Marine has quickly nailed its populist colours to the mast. Local boy Sam Hughes moved here from the Sir Charles Napier in Oxfordshire (see entry) and is settling into his new role with a menu of accessible brasserie food: expect the likes of seared scallops with sauce vierge (£8.50) and slow-roast pork tenderloin with red cabbage and mustard mash (£15.50) followed by Eton mess with cookies. House wine is £14. Closed Mon and Tue.''

Another first for The Marine! ........ Voted 'Restaurant of the Month' by the Ladies Who Lunch in Hampshire. Thank you Ladies, it was a pleasure to serve you, and we look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.

We are pleased to announce that the 'Charity Music Night' on Saturday 1st October was a great success, and raised £493.31 for the Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital, Reg. Charity No. 1051543. We are extremely grateful to Jo Vezey and her contemporary Quartet 'Allegro' and guests Christine Mulgrew, Peter Hill, Glyn Jones and Emily Slade for a fantastic evenings entertainment, and we look forward to a repeat performance in the very near future.
